Shellbound
Shellbound explores the intersection of shell and bone—currency and body, protection and structure, spirit and survival. Inspired by the cowrie shell, once a sacred instrument of trade and prosperity, the collection draws from ancestral economies where value was feminine, spiritual, and communal. Guided by the Orisha lineage of Osun, Yemọja, and Ajé, Shellbound honors women as vessels of abundance, flow, and unseen wealth. Rooted in Detroit’s industrial bone and African memory, the collection reflects a city and a people shaped by loss, resilience, and return. These pieces are not decorative—they are worn intentions of protection, fortune, and continuity.
